Memories created from the Love of Cooking

As a child growing up, I developed an early appreciation of food – especially the nutritionally value of food. I can still remember helping my grandmother baking for the family get-togethers. Sometimes I think back on those days and realize how fortunate I am to have those memories and the knowledge of how food came to be on my dinner table. My love of cooking grew out of the values and appreciation instilled in me and I became very active in the kitchen during my teenage years. As an adult, I worked full-time while pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management. Later in my career, my hectic schedule continued and I soon realized that I longed for those days when we gathered as a family around the dinner table and ate delicious. My entrepreneurial spirit finally led me to leaving the corporate world and starting a catering business – servicing offices with luncheons and snacks. I soon grew tired of the tediousness of churning out the same goodies everyday. I went back into the corporate market and worked for many wine companies in the I.T. field. Iwas retrenched 5 years ago and started my wine business (Vino-Tech). This involved many wine tastings and functions. At first I contracted out for food but was always disappointed in the quality and lack of creativity.http://www.geocities.com/janizafAs

At first I started supplying my own platters at functions. Then I offered the service to my wine customers. After spending a good deal of time eating in restaurants, I ralised that in most cases, I can do better at home. I am continuously striving to increase my knowledge and fuel my desire to prepare delicious, custom created meals. I am currently serving as a Personal Chef (on and off) for a few American actors, with very specific dietary requirements. It is my goal as a personal chef to simplify the hectic lives of my clients and allow them to spend their free time with family and friends gathered around the dinner table creating memories and instilling memories that will last a lifetime.
