INTERESTING PLACES & RESTAURANT NEWS
We've really been getting out and about the past 4 weeks - trying to get back into the hiking "thing" before Winter REALLY hits us. In doing so we've encountered some wonderful places and restaurants (and some really bad).

HAROLD PORTER NATIONAL BOTANIC GARDENS (Betty's Bay)
You don't have to be fit do meander through this exquisite place. It's literally a stroll through the park. For the more adventurous, ask for the key to the gate which leads to the waterfalls. There are a number of ladders to climb at various intervals of the waterfalls. Absolutely breathtaking. Perfect picnic spots.

@365 (Pringle Bay)
After our walk/ladder adventure, we went on to Pringle Bay. @365 has a homely rustic feel and has a fireplace for the winter blues as well as a lounge area. There is also an partially enclosed veranda (smoking section). The blackboard menu serves as a guideline but be sure to ask Sammy as there is more dishes available and they will gladly amend dishes to accommodate your palette. The portions are generous and well presented, in fact, they would put most "Camps Bay" restaurants to shame.

The service is outstanding with the personal touch from Sammy and his team of waiters. Morné is the master chef and promises to tickle your tastebuds with fresh foods and stunning bakes prepared daily. An eating experience from your starter right through to the desert second to none, exceptional value for money.

THE TAVERN (Gordon's Bay)
I haven't frequented this restaurant for years and was wondering whether it was still as good as I remember. The Tavern is situated in the old Harbour and serves delicious eisbein, calamari rings, in fact all their seafood is outstanding. They also have very generous "pubby" baskets and platters.

These restaurants/taverns are always good fun, relaxing and consistent:
